Miles began working for McLarens in November 2019, moving across to Lloyd Warwick, as part of the acquisition in June 2020. Prior to joining the insurance industry in 2018, Miles spent more than 20 years working in offshore construction. For the last decade he was employed, by various offshore wind farm project owners and developers, managing construction and operational phases of their assets in the UK and Germany.

Miles has managed the installation of most major wind components, such as the foundations, WTGs and offshore substations.

During his time in operations and maintenance he handled the repair and replacement of WTG gearboxes, blades, main bearings, transformers and also acted as the Principle Contractor during an extensive remedial campaign to array and export cables.

Since 2018 Miles has utilised his real-world experience to handle complex renewable energy claims for physical damage and business interruption:

  • Solar farms, Battery Storage Facilities – Inverter failures, Theft of cables, Theft of Panels, Electrical Failure, Lightning Strike, Flooding
  • Hydroelectric Plants – Turbine failure, Mechanical Breakdown,
  • Onshore and Offshore windfarms. – Gearbox Failure, Fire, Cable Damage, Theft, Blade Damage, Inverter Failure, Generator Failure
